Millions of visitors come to Germany each and every year. They are looking for the friendly nature of the people, spectacular landscapes or cultural highlights of about 2,500 years of German and European history.

Germany is about half the size of Texas and has a population of over 82 million people.

In comparison, the whole US has a population of about 305 million people.

Everything in Germany is within reach easily and can be reached by train, car or plane.

The United States alone accounts for almost 3 million Germany visitors each year followed by tourists from Japan with over 1 million people. Germany is one of the most important trading partners of the United States and on second place in exports only behind China.

Therefore, it is no wonder most people think about Germany in terms of cars, beer and high-end engineering first.

The country also had a big impact on the world in terms of innovations. MP3 technology, printing press, submarine, laser technology, aspirin and of course the automobile to name some of the most signficant inventions.

But not only German engineers and scientists have gained their laurels. Great minds like Martin Luther, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Ludwig van Beethoven, Richard Wagner, Friedrich Schiller and the Brother’s Grimm also had a big influence on society and cultural development and their names are famous all over the world.

Alongside the stories of geniuses you will also be amazed by the diversity of Germanys landscape. From dunes, coasts and the Wadden Sea in the north to romantic river valleys along the Rhine and Black Forrest and the Alps in the south.

So the variety is remarkable. But there is also another reason many visitors quickly fall in love with this beautiful country: the friendly and open-minded people. All you have to do is bring an open mind yourself and you will have a great vacation. Guaranteed!
